Central European Conference in Gießen

Dear participants of the Central European Conference in Giessen,

after three days of intense scientific discussions and two days dedicated to pre- and post-conference fieldtrips and social events we again would like to thank all of you for participating in our meeting in Giessen. As the success of a conference strongly depends upon its participants and their willingness to give insights into their specific field of research, we would like to express our gratitude for you contributing to our meeting by providing fascinating talks, interesting posters and inspiring discussions. With finally more than 250 participants from 19 countries, we had 46 oral and 158 poster presentations, 3 keynote lectures and 1evening lecture. This is impressive.

To present your research to a wider international community, we would like to invite all participants to submit scientific manuscripts for the planned Conference Proceedings. Since our conference was a joint meeting of the German Quaternary Association (DEUQUA) and the German Working Group for Geomorphology (AK Geomorphologie), there will be two special issues:

E & G – Quaternary Science Journal (E&G QSJ) —> https://www.eg-quaternary-science-journal.net

and

Zeitschrift für Geomorphologie (ZfG – Annals of Geomorphology) —> https://www.schweizerbart.de/journals/zfg

Here are some basic information if you are intending to submit a paper:
(1)   Only original scientific papers will be accepted – so, please no reworking of already published contents!
(2)   All papers will have to pass a peer review in order to guarantee high quality standards.
(3)   Papers should not exceed a maximum of 12 pages (final version).
(4)   Submission deadline: 31.12.2018

In order to be able to assess if there will be enough potential contributions for two special issues, we, in a first step, would like to ask you to give us a feedback whether you are interested in submitting a manuscript. If this is the case, please write a short e-mail to:

(a) Johanna Lomax (Johanna.Lomax@geogr.uni-giessen.de) for those who want to submit to QSJ

(b) Thomas Kolb (thomas.r.kolb@geogr.uni-giessen.de) for those who want to submit to ZfG
