Summary:

A new open access journal in the earth and environmental sciences, Elementa: Science of the Anthropocene, was recently announced and will begin accepting submissions in April 2013. The journal will publish research on "the Earth?s physical, chemical, and biological systems; interactions between human and natural systems; and steps that can be taken to mitigate and adapt to global change." It will be organized into six knowledge domains: atmospheric science earth and environmental science ecology ocean science sustainable engineering sustainability sciences Fees charged to UCB faculty members, post-docs, and graduate students for publishing in this open access journal may be eligible for reimbursement through the Berkeley Research Impact Initiative (BRII).Original post blogged on b2evolution.
