Summary:
As part of the International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP), several hundred meters of sediment were recently extracted from Lake Nam Co in Tibet. These cores will be analyzed over the coming years as part of several international research projects, in collaboration with colleagues from China, Switzerland, and the UK. The working groups at the University of Greifswald will focus on micropaleontological and paleomagnetic investigations. The physical geography working group is seeking a doctoral candidate with a research interest in paleomagnetism.
