Summary:

The National Collection of Aerial Photography, held by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS), has recently allowed access to 4,000 images online. These air photo collections cover both Scotland and worldwide locations. The Aerial Reconnaissance Archives (TARA) offer worldwide coverage. From the TARA site: "The National Collection now also contains The Aerial Reconnaissance Archives (TARA) - millions of military reconnaissance images of locations throughout the world declassified by the UK Ministry of Defence. The archives range from Second World War Allied and German Luftwaffe reconnaissance photographs to Cold War imagery.  TARA images offer an unparalleled record of history as it happened, from imagery of the DDAY landings to the 1956 Suez Crisis." Currently, single air photo frames can be purchased online through the TARA site. Thanks to Francis Herbert and Maps-L for the information.Original post blogged on b2evolution.
