Seit einigen Jahrzehnten steigt der Meeresspiegel unaufhaltsam –
im Schnitt 3,3 mm im Jahr. Inwieweit machen sich die Folgen des
Meeresspiegelanstiegs bereits heute auf den Riffinseln bemerkbar? Diese
Frage konnten Forscher des ZMT nun für das Takuu-Atoll, eine Inselgruppe
im Pazifik nordöstlich von Papa-Neuguinea, beantworten.

Gießener Klimaforscher Luterbacher veröffentlicht internationale Studie
Über die vergangenen Jahrzehnte haben sich die Sommer im größten
Teil Europas immer stärker erwärmt, begleitet von extremen Hitzewellen
wie in 2013, 2010 und 2015. Neueste Forschungen unter der Leitung des
Gießener Geographen und Klimaforschers Prof. Dr. Jürg Luterbacher setzen
die aktuelle Erwärmung
Ein Forscherteam unter der Leitung von Jason Dunlop, Museum für
Naturkunde Berlin, veröffentlicht in der internationalen Fachzeitschrift
