Disappearing and Reappearing Beaches
Dooagh beach on Achill IslandĀ disappeared in 1984 and has, very recently, reappeared. Simon Boxall of Southampton University explains HERE how this is a fairly common occurrence. Apparently the absence of sea weed is of importance.
